Songs
- "Toy Factory Fire" refers to the Kader Toy Factory Fire
- "Miracle Sun" is about Opo the dolphin at Hokianga in 1955-6.
- "Passenger 26"[2] is a dark brooding song and refers to a mysterious mermaid or chimera that the singer inadvertently picks up while driving a tourist bus to the Coromandel. After a brief encounter and ice-cream, the weather changes for the worse, and it is revealed that there is in fact a history of quite mysterious goings-on in this small Coromandel town. The question remains - is this a dream sequence, or is McGlashan describing a true incident of a mysterious groupie from the past (or even the future)? A classic example of Kiwi-noir, perhaps?[3]
